Britney Jean Spears was born Dec. 2, 1981 in the small Southern town of Kentwood, Louisiana where she has lived most of her life. Its just right to say that Britney Spears is the biggest superstar of the millennium. Spears has sold over 76 million albums worldwide according to TIME magazine. The RIAA ranks Spears as the eighth best-selling female artist in American music history, having sold 31 million albums in the U.S. This 5'6'' brown eyed girl now captures the hearts and emotions of millions of people around the world .Pop princess Britney Spears is the first female pop star since Madonna who has managed to influence so many people of all ages in the pop scene.

Family

A Louisiana native, Britney Jean Spears, who would later be known as Britney Spears, is the middle child in the family. Britney Spears was born in McComb, Mississippi, and raised in Southern Baptist. Her father name is James Parnell Spears who worked as a building contractor, and her mother name is Lynne Irene Bridges who was a grade school teacher. Her brother named Bryan is one of her managers and her sister, Jamie-Lynn ,is an actress and singer. Her caring grandparents were June Austin Spears and Emma Jean Forbes.

Early Life

At age 2 Britney liked to listen to the radio and by age 3 she was taking jazz, ballet and tap classes. With her skills she often became the group chief and joined dance competitions and regional carnivals. Music beckoned and Britney started to show her ability by singing for the choir in the local church as well as being a competitor for TV's Star Search. 5' 4" inches tall Britney was a student of the Professional Performing Arts School in New York. She also attended the Off-Broadway Dance Center in New York. When she was 11, she became part of the Mickey Mouse Club. She lived in Orlando for two years to do the show.

How Started

In 1999, when Britney was just 17, she released her debut album ...Baby One More Time. The video for the title track (Hit Me) Baby One More Time marked Britney in a Roman Catholic Schoolgirl setup and was a hit worldwide and made Britney a star overnight. The album with the hits Crazy and Sometimes topped the Billboard charts and sold over 20 million copies. She also won many awards including the 1999 MTV Europe Awards for Best Female Artist, Best Pop Artist and Best burst through Artist.
